Mastering challenges together. Mindfulness, patience and communication while doing things together. This is how connection and trust in oneself and in others grow. That is an important goal of animal-assisted support at the Sommerhof.
Individual support
In individual animal-assisted support, your child’s strengths and needs are the focus. Ponies, sheep and other farm animals accompany the sessions – while grooming, leading, feeding or simply spending time together.
Group: “Fidgeting allowed, dreaming welcome!”
Our resource-oriented social skills training on the farm is for children aged 6 to 8 with ADHD symptoms. Our motto: “It’s okay to be different.” Further course blocks are planned on an ongoing basis.
You will find the methods, format and costs of the group on the page Fidgeting allowed, dreaming welcome.
How to get started
We will discuss with you in person what support could look like for your child. Your contact is Annika Sommer, social pedagogue (B.A.) and specialist in animal-assisted education. Families on a low income can receive financial support.
Write to us using the contact form. You can read more about the background under Animal-assisted intervention.
