About us

EinzigArtig is a non-profit association for animal-assisted activities. Our home is the Sommerhof farm in Ulm-Unterweiler.

Our motto is “Special animals for special people”. The tree in our logo carries colourful handprints and animal tracks. It stands for what matters to us: every person and every animal belongs.

The association

EinzigArtig – tiergestützte Intervention e. V. is entered in the register of associations at the Ulm local court. The Ulm tax office has recognised the association as a non-profit organisation.

Our hearts beat for animal-assisted activities that strengthen, support and connect people regardless of age, background or disability. Inclusion, appreciation and meeting each other as equals are at the heart of what we do.

The Sommerhof farm

Sommerhof
Brühläcker 1
89079 Ulm-Unterweiler

The Sommerhof is located in Ulm-Unterweiler. It is a family-run farm and a social-pedagogical children’s farm. This is where EinzigArtig’s activities take place.

The farm has stables with stalls, an indoor riding arena, an outdoor arena and paddocks. Children romp on the play meadow and climb the straw castle. In winter we celebrate in the cosy farm parlour, the Reiterstüble, and in summer outdoors among the animals.

The Reiterstüble is largely barrier-free and has a kitchen and a toilet. There is also a terrace for relaxing and plenty of seating in and around the animal enclosures. The outdoor arena is floodlit, and the grounds also include several meadows, paddocks with shelters, a covered grooming area and a hut. The farm lies in a quiet spot right next to woods and meadows and is still easy to reach. There is plenty of parking.

Ponies, sheep, pot-bellied pigs, rabbits, chickens and giant land snails live here. Around the farm, woods, meadows and water invite you to explore. The Sommerhof also runs a horse livery.

Our team

The association is led by its board. In our courses and at birthday parties, the children are accompanied by qualified educational staff.

    • Further training in horse-assisted trauma-informed intervention (based on Angelique Kallenberg’s approach)

Annika Sommer discovered her love of animals 15 years ago. The Sommerhof includes a horse livery in its second generation; little by little, other animals joined the horses to support the work. The farm has become a little gem where people from all kinds of backgrounds can recover and feel at ease. It lies in the middle of nature: far from everyday noise and bustle, quiet sounds become audible and it is easier to focus on what really matters to you. The horses involved in our trauma-informed work all have very different characters, so we can respond to the different needs of our clients.
